Introduction of Data Papers
5 January 2026
In line with developments in open science, research transparency, and FAIR data principles, Data Papers are intended to support the formal publication of high-quality, original datasets relevant to forestry and related disciplines.
A Data Paper provides comprehensive documentation of a dataset, including its structure and content, methods of data collection and processing, quality control and validation procedures, metadata, and potential applications. This article type enhances transparency, reproducibility, and long-term data reuse, while ensuring proper citation and academic recognition for data creators.
All submitted Data Papers undergo full peer review in accordance with SEEFOR’s standard editorial procedures.
Detailed structural requirements and submission instructions are available in the Guidelines for Authors.
The introduction of Data Papers reflects SEEFOR’s continued commitment to responsible research publishing and to advancing open science in forestry.
