SEEFOR Thematic Issue

"Remote Sensing for Forestry and Environmental Applications"

Dear colleagues,

Over the last few decades, rapid technological advancements have resulted in the development of various remote sensing instruments, methods, and techniques for retrieval spatial information from remote sensing data. Compared to labor and time-consuming field surveys, remote sensing methods present efficient and alternative solutions for collection spatial data, and therefore they have been increasingly used in many environmental disciplines including forestry, agriculture, landscape management, etc. To utilize the potential and useful applications of continuously evolving remote sensing technology, constant research is needed.

Therefore, this SEEFOR thematic issue calls for papers with a focus on the applications of remote sensing technologies to forestry, agroforestry and related surrounding ecosystems (grasslands, coastal ecosystems, etc.). Research from all geographical zones and study locations using any combination of remote sensing sensors are welcome. Innovative contributions in the form of original scientific papers, preliminary communications, and review papers are invited.

Submission

The manuscript submission deadline: 30 June 2017.

Please prepare your manuscript according to the Guidelines for Authors. You may also like to use the Manuscript Template and Reference Preparation Guide that will facilitate the formatting and manuscript preparation.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the SEEFOR journal website at http://www.seefor.eu/manuscript-submission-2.html. If you are not registered as a user on this site, you are kindly requested to complete the registration form by clicking the button Register. Once you are registered, please log in with your access codes to enter your Author’s Area and submit a manuscript. During the first step of the submission process, under the Journal sections please select ‘Thematic issue - RS’.

Manuscripts fitting within the Thematic issue will undergo a double-blind peer review process, during which they will be reviewed by at least two reviewers, experts in the field of the manuscript's topic. After being accepted and prepared in the final format, the papers will be published online within the Early View section with the intention of producing the collection of online published papers, ready for press by 31 December 2017 (Vol 8 No 2).

No papers processing charge is applied.
